How To Create Your Own Morning Ritual!!

A morning ritual is key to anyone's success!

If you've been on this journey for a while, you know that ALL successful people have a morning ritual!

How you start your day sets the tone for the entire day!

When we start our day in anxiety or rushed because we slept 10 more minutes, we make decisions and choices for the rest of the day from that energy.

However, the opposite is true when we start our day in gratitude and feel love and joy.

Once we set the tone for our day, all of our decisions and choices for the day will also be made from that energy!

When I began my motherhood journey over 8 years ago, I learned quickly that I HAD to wake up BEFORE the kids in order to get some me time before the day began.

Now, I am an early bird so those quiet dark morning hours are my favorite, but if you're not, you can totally start your morning ritual after you drop the kids at school and have your favorite cup of coffee nearby.

Your morning ritual can be anything you want it to be! I suggest starting with journaling on gratitude as a bare minimum! Here are a few examples of how I start my morning!

A typical morning for me looks like this:

4:30 am - Wake Up

4:35 - 4:45 am - Get dressed for the gym (clothes, shoes and vitamins laid out the night before)

4:45 - 5:00 am - Drive to the gym. While on this drive I do my gratitude out loud in the quiet van.

5:00 - 6:00 am - Workout (Strength training most days)

6:00 am - 6:45 am - Travel home, Yoga/Stretch session at home while I say affirmations.

6:45 am - 7:00 am - Kiss Seth and make sure he's greeted and off to work.

7:00 am - 8:00 am - Shower, skin care routine, read my bible, journal and say prayers.

8:00 am - 8:30 am - Kids usually wake up sometime soon so I will hang out with them, help them prepare breakfast and snuggle before we begin THEIR morning rituals.

My most highly recommended morning habits: Journaling, Strength Training, Yoga and Meditation, Gratitude and Affirmations.

Here Is A List Of My Favorite Affirmations:

I am worthy of all that I desire!

I am grateful!

I am an amazing mom!

I am fearless!

I am intuitive!

I am compassionate!

I am beautiful!

I am showing up as my highest self today!

I am in control of how I show up today!

I am patient!

I am mindful!

I am healthy and strong!

I am in control of my thoughts and feelings!

I am present!

I am always finding time to do the things that bring me joy and happiness!

I am expecting incredible opportunities today!

I am in control of my future!

I am forgiving!

I am nurturing healthy relationships in my life!

I am always in the right place at the right time!

I am in love with my body!

I am never alone!

I am talented!

I am generous!

I am choosing to heal!

I am confident in the clothes that I wear!

I am confident that I am achieving my goals!

I am releasing all that no longer serves me!

I am ready to take action toward my goals!

I am expecting exciting experiences in my life!

My morning ritual isn't the same every day.

Sometimes I feel like I'm just going through the motions with my morning ritual. I rush it and don't take the time to FEEL when I'm practicing gratitude or doing affirmations.

When I have awareness of this, I know it's time to switch up the morning ritual, get new journal prompts or simply reverse the order so it feels different!

There's just something about the water that calms my mind and soothes my soul! Getting a shower before my day begins is a great way to calm my central nervous system and connect with my body before the day begins.

I will also often listen to a favorite podcast or book while in the shower.

I start nearly EVERY morning with movement! By physically challenging myself with weights or a cycle class, I automatically start the day off feeling accomplished, feeling strong and feeling unstoppable!

Not to mention creating the happy endorphines that carry me through most of the day.
